That's worth a shot. My SAD light makes a huge difference for me if I'm getting enough sleep. If I sleep less than 6 hours a night, I don't need it. My mood's stable, but grumpy, and I gain weight.
I've also found that sleeping from 10pm-6am is much better for me in every way than sleeping from 2am-10am, and I've read that the same is true for "many" people. So, maybe SOME adjustment to your sleep schedule is worth experimenting with, to find your ideal range.
