An update from Flying Caterpillar Studio

I have come to the sad realization that one of the paintings I really, really want to show for the East Austin Studio Tour is just not going to be done in time. But when you have a week, are working in oils, and your painting looks like this a week out, it's going to be a no-go. *sad* I'm really looking forward to seeing what it looks like finished, but so far the shading on each squiggly-bit in the figure takes me about an hour, and the background needs at least one more glaze. And some bits aren't even blocked yet. Argh.
This one is finally finished, after languishing in a stack of unfinished canvases for...oh, a year and a half. Here's a detail with more accurate coloring, as my studio lighting isn't all that photo-friendly. This one is also done, but was more of a study/venting feelings kinda deal, I'm not sure it's show-worthy. I've got some other things to bring, I just need to decide what they are and place a print order (if necessary) while I still have time.
Stress! Happy work-stress!
