The coyote pack that hangs out down the cliff from our balcony is back. They are currently singing in canon to the sound of a firetruck going by. It's both funny and goosebump-causing.
Wow. We've just had an owl hooting on the roof now and again lately. (And it took off from the roof as I was getting crap out of my car yesterday evening, very nice.)
I love coyotes, they have the cutest ears. Living near a river my folks get to see/hear alot of them. They can become a nuissance, but I still love them. Makes me feel like no matter how much we spread out, there's still something wild on the edge, the periphery, that's waiting for a lapse of our attention, and when it gets a chance it will rip out our throats. Haven't the slightest idea why I should find that so comforting.
