Edit to previous plan. Today is a wash - the Zyrtec and analgesics are no match for the pollen-fu. I guess I'll be spending another day at home, feeling rather blah.

So, how are all of you doing today? May I live vicariously through you, for today? :)

Well, I had a case of sniffles with a little coughing this morning, but now it is down to a little drainage. Otherwise, I'm feeling pretty good. Sex has been good for everything else, my long-legged comfy walk is in full effect. :D

What (exactly, with chartsandgraffs) is the long-legged comfy walk?

I have a feeling that I am forever denied this pleasure, being a member of the stubby-legged underclass, but we can dream. :P

Sorry, no charts and graphs...

The long-legged comfy walk is were I am taking the longest step I can and still be walking naturally. It is a cross between a glide and a catlike prowl. When I am tense, my steps tend to be shorter and quicker, though I will actually not move as quickly.

I am a baby-wearing fool. Jen and Libby are out doing mommy-daughter stuff. This is the first day I've felt pretty good in two weeks now. Just as I was recovering from the last round of plague, I was hit with another... blech. At least I know it wasn't Cedar-related, though -- I'm able to breathe today!

A baby-wearing fool?

I want pictures. :)

I was wondering if you had recovered from the plague you had last week. This seems to be an especially nasty flu/cold/pollen/snot season. Blech.

There are no pictures! The cuteness that is Naomi combines with the wave of anticameramatter I give off, resulting in exploding cameras. Boom.

There have got to be several dozen cameras from OBIK last year with an empty frame or two - maybe the combined aura of hundreds of pics of strung-out, grungy, happy burners will offset your anticameramatter.

I'm determined, here.

Both. The explosive evacuation went through the house last month... unpleasant but thankfully brief.

Hee. After having tied down the customer service person at Western Union and dipped them in fire ants and honey...not too much, save perhaps continuing my relentless search for a sugar daddy/momma/gender ambigious personage to fund my steampunk/fetishware clothing habit.
We also walk dogs. ;)

It takes dedication to fire-ant-and-honey someone in winter, what with having the fire ants imported and all. Good form.

Did you order the fire ants from General Services?

I got my breeding dozen from them originally, but I've been feeding them ambrosia and 1855 brandy in an attempt to breed a better variety of Evil Torture Bug.

Date: 2008-01-14 10:44 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] blissfish.livejournal.com
My first thought is "What a waste of brandy!", but then I don't suppose they drink all that much.

Date: 2008-01-14 10:46 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] serendipitygirl.livejournal.com
Nah, not so much. Negligable amounts.
But with the ambrosia, man, they get BIG. Not big enough to trigger me just yet.
But then that's what the Lloyd Bridges sized tank of ether is for.
If only my life really was this interesting....

Are they big enough yet to put in a wee little harness? Then a pet rat could have a sleigh. You could have Ratarod races across the apartment.

I bet the roomies would love that.

zOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111
It really is a great pity I'm not an Evil Mad Scientist, because seriously this boredom thing would just take care of itself.
(Of course, preventing the little Charioteerat from EATING the Ratarod "horses" would be difficult, and then I'd be dealing with polyploidal rats. Which get 'spensive to feed.)
Yes, quite.

Lightweight steampunk suits for the ants. Very pointy steampunk suits. Complete with tiny, tiny plumes of steam from the joints. Oh yeah. And perhaps a decorative muzzle for the Charioteerats.

I wouldn't mind terribly, as long as there was an understanding that any fire ants found within my demesnes would be viable prey for my Attack Aardvark, Anastasio. Or my Terrorantulas. Whichever got to them first.

Do you sell terrorantula spiderlings on the fuzzy market? 'Cause I could use me some of those.

Finally starting to lash the beasts of pollen myself. Alternating meds with herbs and such seems to be paying off... so far.

Date: 2008-01-14 10:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] blissfish.livejournal.com
Are any particular herbs more helpful? I've been trying to put local honey in my tea, but if that actually has any benefit, it's more of a long-term plan.

Date: 2008-01-14 10:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] knighthorse.livejournal.com
Honey is definitely a long term thing. And it doesn't always work. The honey should be harvested as close to home as possible (a few miles is best). Also, you should take a couple of teaspoonfuls a day for a couple of months before the pollen season starts.

I take a vitamin/herb/amino acid complex called Aller-max from Whole Foods (there are also other complexes to choose from). I also take bee pollen and royal jelly.

Thank you very much, I will check out some blends. Maybe I'll shuffle my sniffly, puffy self on down to WF this evening.

I drink a lot of tea, so the couple of teaspoons hasn't been too hard on me, other then I prefer my tea unsweetened. And I get it from Wheatsville.

But I probably also ought to just capitulate and make an appointment with [livejournal.com profile] onyxlynxx's allergist, at least in prep for next year.

Lessee...

Today entailed working with a sleeping Nao on my lap.

And putting away most of the stuff in Libby's room and some of the stuff in the bedroom.

And getting the rest of Libby's hair cut off (it's VERY short now).

And going to the gym for a pitiful workout.

And will also include a shower and a trip to the grocery store.

I really need to start going to the gym again. If I can escape the screwing trees for long enough, I'll download a pass to the Lifetime North and check it out.

I need to go to the grocery store, too.
