I'm a shy pseudo-Burner.

Recovering from a major depression is hard.  I feel a lot better, and I have a lot more energy, and I'm ready to do stuff.  But how do I go about getting back into things?  Especially with the Burn community - I was pretty new when I just dropped off the face of the Earth for what, five months?  Now I feel really hesitant to make contact again.  I feel like I failed somehow by not being involved through the beginning of the busiest time of the year.

Do any of you Burner types know of any leads/AFs who need a somewhat gimpy volunteer (meaning I can't carry heavy loads over distance or walk for a long time on my injured foot)?  I may be on a cane at F/s, but even so I can do assembly/take down, Greeting, manning ice, stuff like that. [info]gyesika, I've emailed Jen I just haven't heard back yet.

To the Burners on my friends list:  I'm sorry I dropped off the map.  It was me.  Can I come back?

Greeters, Eschelon for the Rangers, or a Sanctuary shift or two would all fit the bill.

And don't worry about it: there's no group *less* likely to take you to task for momentary flake-out than burners . . .

:) Good to know. I know it's just anxiety on my part, but better anxiety expressed than anxiety sat upon and fed.

How are you doing lately?

In partial hermitage myself: between personal crap and the recent explosion of contracts, I've been fairly swamped too. Thankfully, I was apparently built for Ranger work, so finding something to contribute is pretty easy.

I'm glad to hear you've more contacts (hopefully not sucky ones), and I hope the personal situation is going well. Rangers are awesome. :) Maybe next year I'll be in a good place to go through training.

I ought to chase my husbandy-person to your game.

Indeed: you're both quite welcome!

I wanted to say something about us never forgiving you here, but I have to remind myself that MDD is hard to deal with and people sometimes take things out of context.

So, I'll be uncharacteristically pleasant and agree with everyone else that you're welcome back anytime.

Thanks :) I imagine all that being nice has left you discombobulated. Do you need puppies to kick? (Stuffed puppies, because I'm a big softy). Babies to roast?
