Anyone up for coffee or something (cheap) tonight? Epoch would be lovely.
The rest of the night, I know I'll be up in front of the TV watching the potential decimation of my family's home town .We immigrated to Galveston, and my family lived on the beachfront until my Dad was in grade school, and they moved to the mainland just north of the island. My great grandfather started the first radio station on the island, and my grandfather was a big part of the first airstrip and aviation development. My grandmother remembered hearing tales from her mother of the 1900 storm, and the relatives it claimed. I'm sentimental about the place. I know it has weathered many a hurricane before, and I've been there for more than one of them (most memorably Alicia in '83), but I'm still jumpy from Katrina.
