Recovering from a major depression is hard.  I feel a lot better, and I have a lot more energy, and I'm ready to do stuff.  But how do I go about getting back into things?  Especially with the Burn community - I was pretty new when I just dropped off the face of the Earth for what, five months?  Now I feel really hesitant to make contact again.  I feel like I failed somehow by not being involved through the beginning of the busiest time of the year.

Do any of you Burner types know of any leads/AFs who need a somewhat gimpy volunteer (meaning I can't carry heavy loads over distance or walk for a long time on my injured foot)?  I may be on a cane at F/s, but even so I can do assembly/take down, Greeting, manning ice, stuff like that. [info]gyesika, I've emailed Jen I just haven't heard back yet.

To the Burners on my friends list:  I'm sorry I dropped off the map.  It was me.  Can I come back?

You could volunteer for something like a greeter shift. I'm sort of in the same boat, and while I don't think a greeter shift would particularly suit me, I'm gonna do some of this.

I'll let Jen know she's expecting something from you.. depending on the account and which computer she is at, it can take a while. Especially with no EEEEEE key. :P

Yep, greetering sounds like a plan. I'm going to help with PVC as needed, and maybe supply DAFTers with beer and foddstuffs, as we've discussed.

Different Jen - I knew it would be confusing, but I didn't want to put someone's last name in my LJ.

Doh! I know who you mean now. :) What can I say, I hear about someone waiting to hear back from Jen... :P

Hee :) I was planning on doing pre/post-op this year myself, since it suits my temperament as well, but I don't think I'd be able to do the work. Sucktacular.

DaFTies ~love~ foodstuffs and beer, darling! And would welcome you back even without that. Come on out to church night tonight. There is voting on street names and other opportunities!
I am limping around myself for past three days, but hope to be over it soon. It is a twisted ankle and bruised foot I got while testing the warehouse waiver.
Love!

I'll come out tonight. :) How many people are generally working on the effigy out at the site?

Sorry for your ankle - did the warehouse waiver stand its ground?

*squeee!! Foodstuffs and beer! Additionally, Mandie is working on aluminum can Lei's for the effigy, which she certainly needs help with.

But mostly, we'll just be happy to see you. Cause, you know. You've been sick. Or injured. Or a combination thereof. Or hermity. All of which is not in the slightest bit relevant except for the fact that you weren't around, and we noticed and maybe it was good for you, and maybe not.

I think that means we missed you ;)

Ooh, is Mandie working on that at the warehouse? I can help with that!

Thank you for the sweet comment - it means a lot. :)
