Darling self, you are a fat, 33 year old woman.  Should you decide on one of your gym visits that doing nearly two hours of cardio work at 75%-90% of your maximum heart rate (and then doing weight training) is a good plan, you will wake up the next morning convinced that the aches and pains upon getting up to pee are another Republican plot.  Keep it up, and your left plantar fascia is going to call in the hired thugs.

And you're going to do it all over again tonight, aren't you?  Dumbass.

It's all Halliburton's fault.  I need a latte.

Good work lady!
It's hard. It's really hard. But you can do it. And you'll only be glad, even when you hurt.

Remember, the thing that makes you hurt less- faster -is to work out more. I know it's weird, but working out while sore is a sure cure.

Check out the South Beach Diet. I've lost 25 lbs on it.

btw- GOOD JOB!!

:)

Right now I'm not going for weight loss, per se. I'm trying to get in better shape and hopefully regular exercise will help knock my neurotransmitters into shape. I have also been eliminating a bunch of chemicals and processed foods from my diet, so some pounds have slunk away into the night - I'm just trying not to obsess about that part of it.

Thanks. I'm definitely going to keep doing it.

Yeah, working out will make you lose, pretty quickly too if you are cutting back on processed food.

I try not to obsess either, I've talked to my therapist about it and gotten some good advice.

I feel like I'm in pretty good shape now, so the weight loss part is where I'm focusing.

Eventually I'd like to be in good enough shape to start running, but it's something I have to work pretty slowly towards.

I did that actually. I started running when I was around 200. I ran as far as I could(not far) then I walked till I could run again. Eventually I could run pretty far. I was impressed. I haven't been running much, but now I have a bike to lose my breath on. ;)

Yep. Today my tailbone is seriously sore from some time spent on a spin bike. It's not very socially acceptable to walk around rubbing one's tailbone all day. :P

And my feet and calves are all sore and tight, so I keep stopping to stretch them against walls. Hee.

Depends on the social part of socially acceptable, now, doesn't it? ;)

I've always wanted to know - does the latte really taste better when sipped gently amidst the elevated heights of the Ivory Tower, or is that just a myth? :P

Dunno - I ended up having a mere cup of coffee. I'm scared of heights.

John's going to have the car until about 11 - 11:30, so I could either meet you later, or hitch a ride with you if you're coming up north. I could chip in for gas, since I know how long of a drive it is.

But yes, definitely up for it.

Now please excuse me while I go stick my face back into a bowl of raw veggies the size of a tire. :P

See you at 11ish.

What happens if you alternate cardio with weight training?

(I'm all about weight training, that's the only thing that really gets my body in better shape.)

Usually if I'm doing weight training I do lighter cardio. Last night I was beset with testosterone, or something.

I love weight training, I think it gives me a more noticeable improvement faster, but I definitely want to be in better cardiovascular shape.
